Grand Central Station in NYC by spudart Grand Central Station in NYC by spudart
It's rather tricky getting decent shots in Central Station, because they don't allow tripods. (A security guard came up to me immediately saying tripods are not legal in Central Station. So I grabbed a handful of train schedules to prop up my camera and took this shot from the staircase. It's three exposures combined into one HDR.

This is part of a nine-part series of HDR photos in Grand Central station. Here are all the photos in the series:
1. Grand Central station in NYC
2. Grand Central station hallway
3. Grand Central station stairs
4. Grand Central Information
5. Grand Central currency exchange
6. Grand Central luggage rack
7. Grand Central side hall
8. Grand Central escalator
9. Grand Central tickets

This looks majestic :D. I love it. I live in New York City but I never actually take the time to take it all in because I am always in a rush (how stereotypical...) :D.

This makes me think of my Great-grandfather who was a Locomotive Engineer. He worked for New York Central back in the early 1900s. :) This is a beautiful shot!

Great. Now I like this one, the American flag really helps set the proud mood and feel.

Lol, I didn't know tripods weren't allowed, not that I brought mine the last time I was there. Oh this is gorgeous, I love the lighting you were able to achieve in such a beautiful place. Great job!

I think the tripod rule is to make it so that you have to get a permit to take "professional photos." Hence a revenue generator for the station. The Chicago Transit Authority doesn't allow any photos on their trains or stations. It costs about $1000 to get a permit for one day. Silly.

Thanks everyone! I was thinking about color correcting this photo to take out the yellow and green tones, but everyone's been adding this to their favs, so I'm just gonna leave it as is. I'll be posting more Grand Central Station HDR images soon, and some of them will be color corrected, so you can see the variation.

VERY nicely done!!! I love the colours and the whole feel of this photo. I have been to Grand Central Station, but it didn't seem nearly as magical as this photo makes it look.
