It's amazing all the new construction being done in chicago. Ok, so the main building in this photo was built in 1982. What? I never noticed this building before. It's "One South Wacker" by Helmut Jahn. Man. This building is so batman from this angle.
The next building to the right is the brand spankin' new Hyatt Center designed by Harry Cobb. Built with no corner offices, it maintains a great curved oval shape. Then a little peek from another 2005 building "111 South Wacker." (It's the wee bit of a glass rectangle just to the right).
The Sears Tower is watching over all the new kids on the block. (The block being Wacker Drive). I really like how the Sears Tower makes its appearance here. It gives a nice context to these new buildings. The old master.
This was shot just before sunset, so that's what is making these buildings become alive in an ocean of blue. Just one hour later, and these buildings become stark black with just a few bits of yellow lights.
