Sailboats on their way to Lake Michigan in downtown Chicago mark the start of summertime. Here they pass through historic Michigan Ave bridge on the Chicago River.

woah, neat.. I hadn't seen that bridge lifted.. I was only in chicago for a few days, but I stayed in a hotel with a view of that bridge. Very nice.

I work in the Tribune Tower with a window view towards that bridge. Whenever it gets raised up, I get to see it. :-) It's exciting and becomes like a race to grab some shots when I run down there (i'm up on the 14th floor).

Thanks for the fond memory, moved about 90 miles away, but loved going downtown for pics, just might have to go back this summer, love what they did with Navy pier, and definately miss Buckingham Fountain.

That is a great photo. Perfect perspective and angle. I bet the traffic gets pretty bad at that street though :( (Sad)
