Inspired by the idea of overlayering artlaura's prints of the Whitney, here i play around with some of my photos. Here's some window washers on the Illinois Center in downtown Chicago on Wacker and Michigan Ave.

An overlayering of architecture structure with a human element trapped inside the layers of metal reveals my affinity with the strategy of analytical cubism to juxtapose multiple points of view and the Polaroid collage portraits by David Hockney--giving layered time, space and narrative.

This collage originally had as many as 8 photos in it, but then you lost the figures in it, and the grids got too complicated and abstract. It's nice to be able to discern each layer of photos. Plus, there is some sort of grounding implied by the evident sky. If there was no open space at the top, it would just be a mish-mash of grids.

Each photo has two window washers. With three photos overlapping, there are six washers visible. Their bouncing freely on the surface of the building cleansing the outer skin actually entraps them within the fabric of the structure.

I love the layering. It's looks infinite...

i like the character element of the window washers. i almost see it as a cage that they're trapped inside.
